Did a bag illustration from a real bag display during an event at a fashion boutique in Orchard Road. According the manager in-charge, this limited edition bag was taken very long time to produce due to all fully hand made.

The Beginning

I remember I took my fashion Illustrations Course at Pa-Lin Art School somewhere around 1990, the lecturer who taught the class was Miss Gina Lim, graduated from Baharudin Polytechnic, Singapore if I am not wrong.

The usual grid divides the overall height of each body, from the heel to top of the head; including hair covering for adults will be 1:7 or 1:7.5. But in fashion illustration, was mainly emphasizing the designing of the clothes, hence it usually divides the adult body into 1:9 to 1:10.

My Art

Fashion Illustration is of my interest. Fashion illustrations, other than designing the outfit and the fashion, I see it as an art; hence it could be done in any art medium other than pencils and markers, it could be done in charcoal, in acrylic, pastel, water color, or any types of medium I like.

Of course the purpose of fashion illustration is one of the procedures to design the cloth and accessories, it must be make-able, wear-able and practical, but since I emphasized on art purposes, that’s not importance anymore.
