I like fashion show, I like fashion design, hence I always felt great got chance to watch fashion show while I do event.That was great that I been hired to do my silhouette cutting for a product launching by using client's product as my 'cutting paper' (Goodrich)I found that was real cool to do portrait silhouette for the guests using different fabrics!
The models was show the cloth made by wallpaper!

That was long time did not join the drawing group for my sketch practice.
It was really great that have a chance join in a group drawing session during my free schedule.Finally I have a slightly sketch that better than the previous sketches. Haahaa!I would say, the model which posing for us in this session was really a great professional model, she had posed for us in many stunning tough poses that strongly booted everyone’s artistic feeling, hence everyone was full of energy to express each of our drawing style through this stunning visual impact, super cool to me!

Ladies in high heel always look sexy, confident, sophisticated and so ford; there are huge amount of lady love high heels and shoes and lots of them were madly about it.I just do some research about it, I found it was very interesting, thought I can feel a little why ladies love for it, I think it is an art piece that always present itself in unlimited new faces.

I was so happy to have a chance to see the fashion show of Max Mara in a private event. I found all the design was really cool! I like it very much!The clothes shown by the models in this fashion show, I found some of the designs which were kind of very nice 3d effects and layers of the clothes that brought out the elegant and the beauty of females. Thought if I was a millionaire, I will be buying many of them as and tread it as an art collection.

That was great that I had a chance to watch “The Longest Orchard Catwalk 2009” Singapore in Orchard Road. There were 63 international models present 126 designer’s works in the show. The brand included: DKNY, GAP, Jimmy Choo, Paula Ka, Sonia Rykiel, Vivien Tam, Banana Republic, Coach, Diesel Black and Lee Hwa Jewellery.I like this Sonia Rykiel Design very much, especially the colour combinations!

Off shoulder Design

I wanted to try the elastic thread sewing technique, after some research, I found this off shoulder clothe design was my best choice.
I planned to sew the elastic thread at the shoulder, the sleeves and the waist parts, end up I decided to change the waist part to a tight knot patent.With the consult of my sewing lecturer Vivien, finally I get it done in 70% at you seen in the photos. The rest of the portion to be sew in some days , should be after Chinese new years due to I am too busy doing Christmas and Chinese New Year Events within these few months.
I found the most difficult to sew is the elastic thread portion. Haahaa! Finally I did it one, now have to continue to do it few more.

Thought the precious post, the black color based fabric was thick and slight hard type, and this white based fabric, is a very soft and smooth type.

After put on the mannequin, I having too many ideas, have not decide what kind of design going to apply.

When China town and found this fabrics was really nice, they imported from Europe. I bought 2 yards. Just buy without any design in mind.Thought lots people may have the same problem: Produce the design then buy the cloth or buy the cloth then decide what design to be applied to; that was a headache question.

Hm....it was really fun that put it on the mannequin to try out what design can be produce due to the thickness, the softness, the strengths and the fabric prints of the cloth.

It was very ‘Japanese’ if I make it in this design although it imported from Europe.

Ah! If make it in a shirt, it seems for lady boss, directors, specialist, rich housewife maybe. Hee hee!

Whether is photo shooting or the fashions illustration, I think the posing of the model is very important, it will highlight and emphasized the best part of the feeling and the effects of the model / costume or the products.Personally, I divide into few type: standing poses, the most common posing for presentation and display, sitting poses, sitting which closely to lying poses, lying poses and some kind of special poses like squash, jogging, dancing etc.

As in 2008's view, these night gown series was out of trend, but it still my artworks in 1991.

I used crayon and watercolor drawing, to bring the feeling of velvet, the inside of this gown in orange color was one of the unique design of this gown.

Aerobics Leotards

Did this series aerobic leotards design in 1991. Aerobics workout was one of the hottest sports during 90s; Jane Fonda is the tycoon during that time, I remember many related great movies had launched like Break Dance, Flash Dance the most famous ones and etc.

I been joining the aerobics classes at YMCA Singapore, during that period, the famous instructress was Angeline Teo, her class was real tough but always full house!

Presently, in the “Yoga Age”, that was none of the people will wear such attire even aerobics workout still around except professional contemporary or ballet dancers; although Madonna ever wore it in her MTV somewhere around 2007 or 2006 if I am not wrong.

The Beginning

I remember I took my fashion Illustrations Course at Pa-Lin Art School somewhere around 1990, the lecturer who taught the class was Miss Gina Lim, graduated from Baharudin Polytechnic, Singapore if I am not wrong.

The usual grid divides the overall height of each body, from the heel to top of the head; including hair covering for adults will be 1:7 or 1:7.5. But in fashion illustration, was mainly emphasizing the designing of the clothes, hence it usually divides the adult body into 1:9 to 1:10.

Just put up these series course project artworks, all done in around 1990-1991.

Fashion Illustration is of my interest. Fashion illustrations, other than designing the outfit and the fashion, I see it as an art; hence it could be done in any art medium other than pencils and markers, it could be done in charcoal, in acrylic, pastel, water color, or any types of medium I like.

Of course the purpose of fashion illustration is one of the procedures to design the cloth and accessories, it must be make-able, wear-able and practical, but since I emphasized on art purposes, that’s not importance anymore.
Nude, is the beginning of wearing a cloth.
